Some of the most common gemstone settings
Prong Set is the classic way to set a gemstone and show it proudly. You'll see anywhere from two to ten prongs in many styles.
Bezel Set is a clean and modern setting to protect and secure the gem. It's snag and worry free.
Half Bezel shows more of the gem than does Bezel Set.
Half Bezel Bypass is similar to Half Bezel, but shows more design curvature.
Bar Set is a bold combination of the Half Bezel and Channel settings.
Channel Set is a classic, smooth and clean look used in many lady’s and men’s bands and fashion jewelry.
Punch Set is often used in men’s wedding bands. The owner can add more gems to most rings later.
Bead Set is very popular in today’s wedding and engagement rings for the side accent diamonds.
Pavé Set is French for paved, like a pavement of diamonds set very close in multiple rows.
French Set gives a unique texture because the prongs that secure the gems are formed from the existing band.
Shared Prongs allows each pair of prongs to hold one side of two diamonds. Used in rings and bands to bring the diamonds closer together.
